jevsort walks a Google Photos library in the browser you are already signed into. It turns each photo into a short text description on your own Mac, because Jev cannot see the picture itself, then asks Jev which album it belongs in and whether it should be proposed for deletion.

Nothing is deleted. Photos it is unsure about go into an album for you to check, and one command puts the library back the way it was.

The README walks through a 164-photo try: the scan, the albums it proposed, and the undo. It was built at the San Francisco Jev hackathon.

What you get

  • Python source under the MIT license
  • A scan that proposes albums and a review album, with an undo
  • A demo recording of a 164-photo library
